Last week we launched our weekly giveaway with a killer device, and for week two we're following up with another solid offering. Our friends at Nokia are showing up big, offering not one but five T-Mobile branded Lumia 710 units for our lucky readers! Indeed, we'll be picking out five winners and shipping one out to each. Note: You'll definitely want to read the fine print this time around, as there are a few caveats: the Lumia 710s being given out are strictly locked to work with T-Mobile US SIMs, and service is not coming with the prizes.

Windows Phone 7.8 upgrades appear on Nokia's servers for all eligible Lumias

Lingering concerns that Nokia might not upgrade all its Windows Phone 7.5 roster to 7.8 might have just been put to rest. Just a day after updates for the Lumia 510 and 800 were caught on Nokia's servers through NaviFirm, updates have also been spotted for those devices that didn't make the initial cut: the Lumia 610, 710 and 900 have all appeared, each with numerous region-specific updates in tow. For reasons that aren't quite clear, T-Mobile has just confirmed to TmoNews that the Nokia Lumia 710 won't receive a bump to Windows Phone 7.8. While the update has taken its share of criticisms as a purely cosmetic revision, we've a feeling that more than a few folks were looking forward to the world of resizable live tiles -- seems like a reasonable expectation, right? A step too far? Perhaps. By iterating its Windows Phone range so much, it's difficult to see why one low-end Lumia is better than the other. The principal nitpick of Nokia's Lumia 610, is that its dwarfed by the similarly-priced yet better-specced 710. But does it do the job as an ultra-budget handset?
