There Are Blatant Errors In Apple's New Maps App (AAPL)

Steve Kovach

Apple's new Maps app for its upcoming iOS 6 mobile operating system no longer uses Google Maps data

Instead, it gets most of its maps from TomTom.

But the beta version of iOS 6 Maps appears to be riddled with errors. As Gizmodo points out, the app incorrectly names a lot of major oceans and continents.

Keep in mind that this isn't the final version of Maps. Apple will continue to polish the app (and everything else in iOS 6) so it's ready to go for the operating system's launch this fall.
