Welcome to San Francisco, Pinterest!
As we reported over the weekend, Pinterest has moved from Palo Alto into its expansive new digs at 808 Brannan Street in San Francisco's SoMa district.
And people are already hard at work there! Pinterest engineer Tracy Chou checked in at the new SF office on Foursquare around 9 a.m. Pacific Time.
The property is perfect for Pinterest, which just raised $100 million earlier this year. It's actually made up of two connected buildings. Pinterest's 40-some employees appear to be occupying the smaller one at 572 7th Street while work continues to get 808 Brannan ready for occupancy. Together, they should eventually be able to accommodate more than 200 employees.
Despite reserved parking signs for Cold Brew Labs, Pinterest's original corporate name, and a Pinterest logo visible from the sidewalk, no one associated with the company seems prepared to talk about the move. PR reps haven't responded to multiple requests for comment.
And when we called Chad Arkoff, a leasing agent with Flynn Holdings, the real-estate development firm which owns the property and poured roughly $9 million into buying and rehabbing it, he said, "I can't comment on that property in any capacity."
But that stonewall won't stop us from telling you all about Pinterest's new brick-walled engineering haven in the City by the Bay. The local Planning Department has tons of pictures and floorplans.
Here's the location in SoMa. Along Langton Alley, Pinterest has roughly a dozen coveted parking spots.
The neighborhood is still transitioning from its industrial origins.
Pinterest's office is actually two connected buildings. The main entrance is currently at 572 7th Street, a warehouse built in 1938.
